Who We Are

Meet Our Diverse Team at Granville Vet Clinic

At Granville Vet Clinic, we take pride in our diverse and talented team, all of whom are dedicated to providing exceptional care for your beloved pets. Each team member brings a unique set of skills, passions, and expertise to contribute to our shared goal of ensuring the health and well-being of your furry friends. It all began with the vision of our founder, Dr. Amanda Hotke, whose commitment to excellence has set the standard for our clinic's exceptional care.

Dr. Amanda Hotke

Founder & Veterinarian
Dr. Amanda Hotke is the heart and soul of Granville Vet Clinic. With her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to animals, she established the clinic with the goal of providing top-notch veterinary care in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Since she was a young girl, Amanda dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She completed the required undergraduate program at the University of Alberta before travelling to Perth, Australia where she obtained her Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. Despite the sunny weather and beautiful beaches in Australia, Amanda decided to come back home to Edmonton and began working as a veterinarian in December of 2008. Between 2008 and 2015 Amanda gained valuable experience working in various small animal veterinary clinics in both Edmonton and St. Albert. In 2015, Amanda opened the Granville Veterinary Clinic. Amanda currently has two dogs, Zorro & Timber, and a mischievous cat named Wabby, who all keep her busy in her spare time. As well, Amanda plays ringette in the winter and keeps busy gardening in the summer.

Dr. Ariel

Veterinarian

Dr. Ariel took the plunge into swine medicine for two action-packed years after his graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Visayas State University in the Philippines in 2016. His journey soon led him to an exciting internship in the U.S., where he expanded his expertise. By 2020, he found a new home in Canada, working as a swine technician before deciding it was time to follow his true passion: small animals.

Dr. Ariel’s love for veterinary care blossomed during his time at a small animal clinic in Calgary, where he honed his skills. He has a special interest in feline medicine. His next mission? To dive deeper into surgery and dentistry! Now, fully licensed and settled in Granville, he’s ready to bring his passion for pets to the community.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Ariel out on an adventure! Whether he's hiking, road-tripping, trying out new restaurants, or exploring Alberta's stunning landscapes, he’s always up for a good time. With the world at his feet, Dr. Ariel can’t wait to see what new discoveries lie ahead!

Dr. Emily

Veterinarian

After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022, Dr. Emily began her career practicing in the North before returning to Edmonton to be closer to friends and family. Her love for animals started at a very young age—first with three budgies she grew up with, and later with her first cat, whom she met and treated while working at her previous clinic.

She adores all things furry, fuzzy, feathery, scaly, and shelled, and has been passionate about working with exotic species since her days in vet school. With a strong interest in wellness and preventative care across all species, she enjoys empowering pet owners with the knowledge they need to support and prolong their companions’ health—whether through nutrition guidance or enrichment strategies to encourage healthy behaviours.

Outside the clinic, she loves collecting blind boxes, building 3D wooden puzzles, and exploring new foods whenever she can.

Jen, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technologist & Office Manager
Jen graduated with honours from the Veterinary Medical Assistant program in 2016 and went directly into the Animal Health Tech Program at NAIT after she found her love for veterinary medicine. She graduated with honours in 2018, and joined our team in 2020 as an RVT. You’ll usually see her running around the clinic, helping out everyone and keeping the day running smoothly! When she’s not at work, you can usually find her at the gym (lifting some very heavy weights), curled up watching some movies/reading a book or entertaining her zoo of critters (2 poodles, and 2 cats).

Justine

Client Care Manager
Justine’s love for animals sparked and continued to grow as she grew up on an acreage just outside of Edmonton with cats, dogs and horses. She played 5 years of University Volleyball while achieving a bachelors degree in kinesiology and sports studies at the University of Alberta Augustana. After graduating, she completed her Veterinary Medical Assistant through Animal Behaviour College, all the while assistant coaching for the women’s volleyball team at the University of Alberta Augustana in Camrose, Alberta. She joined the Granville team in December of 2023. In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three fur babies (Milo, Luna & Bean). Recently, Justine has had the blessing of a baby boy (Oliver) that has made her house chaos! Baby #2 is also en route for Feb 2026!

Colette

Client Care Manager
Colette has been passionate about animals since she was young! She has been horse back riding since she was six years old (both competitively and as a trainer). She is currently on the path of applying to school to become an RVT! In the meantime, she is at Granville Vet expanding her animal knowledge and sharing her bright personality with all our clients. In her spare time she enjoys going to the barn to spend time with her two horses (Linkin & Mailey), cuddling with her two cats (Bruce Wayne and Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) and off grid camping with her partner and dog (Freya). They enjoy exploring lakes via her paddle board (Freya rides along with her & enjoys jumping off the paddle board to swim and fetch her toys)!

Dusti, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technologist
Dusti pursued her passion for animals through volunteering at the Humane Society for years; she then wanted to make more of a difference and pursuing a career as a Registered Veterinary Technologist was the step in that direction. Dusti attended the Animal Health Tech program at NAIT and graduated in 2021 with honors. Shortly after, she found her new place helping animals on the Granville Team where she strives for puuuuur-fection! Dusti has a twin son and daughter that keep her more than busy in her time outside work. They enjoy going to the park, crafting and cuddling up watching their favorite movies. She is also a fur momma to five rescue cats that she loves dearly. She looks forward to helping you and your fur babies on your next visit!

Outside of work, she can often be found at a workout class or practicing yoga, and she also loves spending quiet time at home snuggled up with her dog, Callie, and her cat, Mika, while enjoying a good book.

Kylie

In her downtime, Kylie enjoys hanging out with her husband & three fur kids, plant shopping and going to the gym.
